Geraint's Amazing battle and he won!!!

The last Windermere guided swim of the year saw a mighty swim. The forecast was to be windy, but it had said this all week and being nothing but a gentle breeze. The swim direction was changed to accommodate the forecast and what a good job it was. It was a very overcast day and the sun had no intention of coming out.

Ger had the swim of all swims. He was met with big winds, gusts and was absolutely loving it. There was never a doubt that this swim was not within his ability and with the Drogue keeping Gemini Warrior from blowing off, the swim was one of the finest of the season. Ger absolutely loved the waves as he powered through and finished with a huge smile on his face in  as superb time of 6 hours and 5 minutes.

Ger has undergone surgery for the removal of a tumour behind his ear and has been recovering from this, keeping this swim in his mind as a focus. This swim was not just swimming 10.5 miles, it was laying to rest any doubts and proving that he is a force to be reckoned with. We wish him all the best as he commenced radiotherapy in the next phase of his treatment.
