Setting off on a training swim we had a familiar face Erica who decided to mix things up with a Night Swim. Erica, a strong swimmer who last year swam a Loch Lomond Solo turned up full of a cold. Suffering but determined to get a good stint in. We set off at the Fell Foot end of Windermere and she was off like a train. Great mesmorising stroke that as the daylight left could make you calmly fall asleep with its metronomic rhythm. Erica swam for just over 3 hours in the pitch black before her cold symptoms proved problematic . Time to get the Night Nurse and back to bed. Great effort and all hours in the bank.
