Coniston Bliss

Meet Tina Hawthorn.  Tina had always wanted to try open water swimming and took several months to build up the courage to come and give it a whirl, a pool swimmer bored of the push offs. It wasn't before long before she had got the bug and a Coniston Solo in her sights. We have all been affected by Covid, but Tina ended up in ICU and had a real kick ass attitude. She came back and a training plan was written to build Tina back up. Dedicated, focused and completing every training swim on the plan , Tina was super set.

The day came and Coniston was behaving. No wind a little drizzly and a water temperature of 18 -19 degrees throughout. Waved off by hubby Tina walked in and started her biggest swim ever. She settled in nicely and only fed after 2 hours, which we managed to time whilst husband was on the shore lines to encourage her. Tina was absolutely loving it and made it look easy, with the still water and her strong efficient stroke.  With the regular toots from the steamers and Tina in her element she could not have had a better swim.

3 hours and 25 minutes later Tina walked out ( well once cramp had subsided) with the biggest smile saying " I don't want to get out" lets get Ulswater sorted :)

A drama free day and what an honour. Proof that you follow a training plan and you get the right results.
