With 3 Seconds Spare

David returned to Uswim to box off his 2 Way Windermere, with his sights on a Channel Solo in the future David looked determined and extremely focused. Starting at Ambleside he headed out . It was an overcast day and the Lake started still, but Windy Windermere soon began to blow and David found himself swimming into a head on wind. Making it look very easy he powered through, being escorted passed the Activity Centre, due to a huge Scout Water Activity taking place.

David completed his 1 Way in a superb 5 hours and 8 minutes and with the wind in the other direction we encouraged him to aim for 10 hours. With no watch on David was unaware of pace/ the time which we advocate due to the swimmer not being distracted and looking at their watch, which we all know should be a guide only.

Davids stroke count and pace never decreased, we joked about a negative split for the 2nd leg, but as we got to the Chain Ferry (the half way marker) we could see that this could actually be achievable. With an increase in encouragement and Jennie's promise of a Curry David Owen hit Ambleside with 3 seconds to spare. A Fabulous 10 hour Swim Minus 3 Seconds. Simply Superb.
