On a drizzly morning Danny Ralph stood at the start of his longest swim in preparation for Loch Lomond Solo in September. The Lake's temperature has had a bit of a plummet with the average being around 17.5 degrees so for this lean mean machine the temperature was always going to be a challenge.

Danny took his first feed after 90 minutes and was struggling to adjust, he was cold and shivery so fast feeds were important and we took the decision to give warm fluids with them all. We watched him closely determined and strong, but we knew the temperature was the big test. After 4 hours and 15 minutes he had touched the Jetty and on his way back after a brief hello to land support/wife Debbie .

The return leg mixed things up and a cross wind made getting into a strong rhythm difficult. Bursts of laughter came out at times as Danny tried to breathe without getting slapped in the face. Highly amusing for the crew but annoying no doubt for Danny.

Danny completed his swim after a fantastic 9 hours and 15 minutes. Reminded that when we are in Scotland he will be have another 7 miles to go. Go Go Danny we are with you all the way.
