After a busy Season myself and Dave Q treated ourselves to a Swim Holiday with Strel Swimming (one of our Uswim Partners). The destination was Kas, Turkey (pronounced CASH) and the sea swimming was the main attraction with the bonus of the stunning location and a chance to relax in-between. Whilst we both have marathon swim challenges planned for July 2019 we knew that this was not a training camp and were simply going to make the most of the ace sea swims on offer.

If you have never been on a swim holiday but love outdoor swimming then a Strel Adventure is a 'must-do'. Not only are you guaranteed warm water swims (hoorah!) but the local swim guides are knowledgeable and supportive of all abilities guaranteeing you a fun time. Each days structure was simple - hearty breakfast, meet on the swim yacht and then motor to a local beauty spot for a sea swim. There were two swims per day with a delicious lunch served on board freshly prepared by a Turkish Chef no less. In between feeding we would relax by either having a go at kayaking or stand-up-paddle-boarding. Not everyone swam on all the swims with some choosing to relax on board so this type of holiday really does suit all tastes.

Throughout all the swims we had excellent safety support in the form of a powerboat and two kayaker's with the yacht 'mother ship' inching its way alongside us. The sea temperature was a tropical 24 degrees and so clear you could admire the fish as you were swimming. Turtles were abundant and regularly popped up for a 'look-see'.

Each swim varied and we had a mix of coastal and Island to Island dips which offered more of a challenge. Personally loved swimming in the strong 'flume-like' currents between Islands! We also had Video Analysis with detailed individual feedback the same evening by our host Borut Strel, the MD of Strel Swimming.

We have known Borut many years and this is our second holiday with him so he must be doing something right! We look forward to more of the same in the future.
