Team Mahaffey Swim The English Channel (Relay)

After a very long journey, that went from a Solo swim for William to 2 different relay teams , they finally got there. Due to weather blow out , 2 of the team were unable to make the date so a mad SOS call out to some swimmers and a team was made.  Swimmer 1 was Dominic Bunce , Swimmer 2 Michael Bell, Swimmer 3 William Mahaffey and 4th swimmer Sally Phillips.

In the early hours of Friday 8th July the team met at Folkestone harbour for the first time as Team Mahaffey. Their pilot Kevin Sherman and their vessel for the trip Connemara.

Its fair to say there were lots on anticipation about this swim. Usually a team have spent time together, found about each others quirks and supported each other through their qualifiers. Not this time, however the mix worked and the swim went totally to plan.

Check out the Youtube video to see exactly how it went.

In a fantabulous time of 11 hours 52 minutes they hit France.
