Uswim, Urun, Uswim, Urun!

Uswim and Performance Tri Coaching (PTC) joined forces to bring the USRSR concept to MediaCityUK with points awarded to all finishers. The points from Race#1 and Race#2 were added and prizes handed out to the top 3 competitors with the most total points.
On Wednesday 20th September Race #2 of Uswims' Urban Swim Run Series took place.

The format was simple and the same as Race#1 held in August – Swim 750m, Run 4km, Swim 750m, Run 2km – all non-stop.

Of the 12 athletes who attended – all finished and seemingly also enjoyed themselves despite the 2nd swim requiring a glowstick due to the fading light.

Big well done to Colin for winning the race and making himself the male series champion having had a strong race back in August.

2nd place went to Gareth Rees from Manchester Tri Club who braved both swims in just his tri suit, closely followed by Emma making herself Female Series Champion after once again finishing as top female.

Just like Race#1, the rest of the field jostled for positions due to the unique nature of this event with a special mention to friends Zoe and Maria who fearlessly raced each other (again) – hope you two are still friends!

And last but not least was Rachel who brought the race to a close – and to think she only very recently started swimming and running after giving up smoking – what a star!

Next year we we are planning a longer series with more races including a sea swim and beach run so watch this space!

And a final mention to Coordinator Pat Walkington, the wonderful marshals from Rossendale Tri Club – couldn’t have done it without you guys!

Cheers, The Uswim Team
