Windermere Solo for Jan Kempson

On Tuesday 20th September, a very nervous Jan started his longest swim to date, a Windermere solo. Having completed a solo Coniston and Ullswater already this season, Jan had set his eyes on Windermere. He had been supported by Uswim Adventure along the way and we knew he was keen to ditch the wetsuit. And he did.

Jan fed hourly and had the best day ever. Windermere was calm , the sun shone and he had around a dozen jets fly over him throughout the day. 3 hours in and Jan had began to feel it, feeding back "its hurting a bit now ", but he never complained he just got on with it.  Lots of support from his friends and family came through which we fed back to him.

7 hours and 10 minutes Jan walked out at Waterhead one happy man.  His longest swim to date and skins. I wonder what will be next.
