A Wet Windy Windermere

On a Very Grey Tuesday Morning we met with Joanna Lyon at Fell Foot Park. Not shy of a Challenge and having cranked up the training , some of it tethered in the garden, she was ready and raring to go. The forecast was rain and wind, but the wind would be in her favour, giving her a gentle push down the Lake.

Super focused and super organised Joanna was waved off by her husband Andrew and her longest swim ever began.

Joanna fed every 45 minutes and despite the dull grey view she remained in great spirits. Commenting on how amazing the view was ( there was none). The rain came and then went. Skills were needed to handle the boat, unlike a car we cant simply just stay in the same spot and spent a lot of time in reverse as the wind was pushing us down the Lake. Joanna hit the Ferry Crossing 3 hours and 36 minutes into her swim.

Joanna made great progress despite the heavy downpours and her fabulous spirit continued. We could see her husband Andrew walking along the banking to see his Wife in to the finish.

In a fabulous time of 7 Hours and 3 Minutes Joanna had completed her Solo Windermere. Awesome lady Awesome swimming.
